\n Bissau: ECOWAS, through ROGEAP, with financial support from the World Bank, is assisting Guinea-Bissau in developing and validating its national energy policy.<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n\n

\n Bissau, (November 6, 2025).<\/strong>\n <\/p>\n\n

From November 5 to 7, 2025, the capital of Guinea-Bissau hosted workshops dedicated to the presentation and public validation of the country’s national energy policy guidelines.<\/p>\n\n

This series of workshops aims to share with public institutions, the private sector, and civil society the various strategic guidelines for developing a viable, reliable, and sustainable national energy policy for the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.<\/p>\n\n

This process is an initiative of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, which has received technical and financial support from ECOWAS through the Regional Off-Grid Electricity Access Project (ROGEAP) for the recruitment of a consultant responsible for drafting this policy document, as well as organizing feedback workshops for the various Guinean Bissau stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n

The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, represented by the Director General of Energy, Mr. Carlos Alberto Handem<\/strong>, thanked ECOWAS for its efforts on behalf of this member country.<\/p>\n\n

For his part, Mr. BAH ARNAUD KOUADIO<\/strong>, on behalf of ROGEAP, reaffirmed ECOWAS’s<\/strong> willingness and determination to support the country in developing a high-quality energy policy.<\/p>\n\n

As a reminder, ROGEAP is a project financed by the World Bank, the Clean Technology Fund (CTF), and the Directorate-General for International Cooperation (DGIS) and implemented by the ECOWAS Commission through the Department of Infrastructure, Energy, and Digitalization and BOAD.<\/p>\n\n
