Opening of the third regional workshop of the ROGEAP network of journalists on the results of the project
Third ROGEAP Journalist Awareness Workshop: Journalists and communication specialists gather in Lomé to boost project communication.
Lomé (March 5, 2026). Members of the ROGEAP Journalists Network are meeting in Lomé for a regional workshop scheduled for March 5-6, 2026. This meeting brings together journalists and representatives from the network’s 19 member states.
These countries include ECOWAS member states, as well as Mauritania, Chad, Cameroon, and the Central African Republic.
The workshop, which began today, aims to strengthen journalists’ capacities and promote a better understanding of issues related to energy access and the promotion of renewable energy in the region.
Several organizations and institutions are taking part in this meeting, including the ROGEAP program, the Commission’s Directorate of Communication, the West African Development Bank (BOAD), and the ECOWAS Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ECREEE). The Private Sector Platform (PFM) is also participating in the discussions.
During these two days of work, participants will discuss the results of the Regional Off-Grid Electricity Access Project in the 19 member states.
